Husker Du - New Day Rising (SST, 1985)

Hüsker Dü - New Day Rising
Drunk-raised guy whines.

Notes
  1. "Drunk-raised guy": From GQ: "In his new memoir, See a Little Light: The Trail of Rage and Melody, [Bob Mould] writes about growing up with an alcoholic father in desolate upstate New York."
  2. Alternative anagram: Hey, unrewarding U.S. disk!
  3. This title was suggested by Rhett Lawrence. Interestingly, both anagrams were done in less than a minute. It's a "Land Speed Record," of sorts.

Um, you seem to have missed my proviso that a negative review was disallowed. But thanks, I guess. Maybe I should stick to suggesting titles for albums I don't like.

That depends on whether you'd rather be obliged to reject something you currently like, or to embrace something you currently don't.

To "embrace something you currently don't" would involve arms only 3 feet long each (assuming a chest width of 2 feet, and assuming you don't already appreciate any S.'s CG, Ra, or Gainsbourg). If it's CDs we're talking about, why, eight times 5 inches is practically nothing at all!

Unless you're referring to embracing our newfound rejection.

That could work.

We'd argue that our ratio of good/bad judgments isn't much different from anyone else's, except inasmuch as the judgments themselves are purely objective.

Play the average person 200 records from a wide variety of genres and you'd be lucky to get eight positive reactions, let alone 58 neutral ones. Worse, those reactions would probably be based on things like hearsay, received wisdom, competitive consumption, tribalism, peer pressure or the internalized diktats of some scribbler at Pitchfork. We'll stick with anagrams, thanks!
