The Original Animals - Before We Were So Rudely Interrupted (Jet, 1977)

The Original Animals - Before We Were So Rudely Interrupted
Burdon et al. wearily reform, issue rotten LP. "I need a wig here!"

Before We Were So Rudely Interrupted

Notes
  1. Initially, the line about needing a wig seemed irrelevant. However, our research soon showed that the anagram was correct. See The Who, The Animals and Sunn Amps.
  2. The conventional wisdom seems to be that this album, which came out in August of 1977, was "overlooked" due to the rise of punk. It's definitely hard to see any other reason for the commercial failure of a blues LP released by aging relics of the British Invasion, and consisting mainly of cover versions. The Sex Pistols released Never Mind the Bollocks two months later. By that time, the public had wearied of punk, and was able to give Eric Clapton's Slowhand the attention it deserved.
